She also offers short, powerful in-house employee programs designed to create group focus, break the back of procrastination, and provide a call to action.
Personally, Katrina practices what she preaches, and is constantly stretching her boundaries. In the last few years, she has completed the 150km Ride Daylesford, attained her PADI scuba diving license, swam the notorious RIP off Pt Nepean, and raised $7,000 for kids in need by cycling in the Women’s 300 Chain Reaction ride. She is engaged in giving back to the community as a volunteer with Second Bite, the GIJFC, and as an active mentor coach.
Katrina sits on the leadership team for the ICF Australasia Southern States branch and has done so since October 2019.
The Personal Story
I’m a coach, solopreneur, recreational athlete, and mother of three boys. I’m a huge believer in personal responsibility, self-development, and what stepping outside my comfort zone does for me.
Somedays it means swimming in icy open water (sharks!).
Other times it might mean committing to a long distance ride in another state to raise money for disadvantaged children.
Or it could mean taking a video of myself and pushing ‘publish’ on social media.
My achievements might not fit everyone’s definition of the word, but finding your own stretch is what matters. I work with clients who want to take their professional performance to the next level – whatever that means for them.
I discovered coaching while working with a reputable direct selling company. I joined as a sales consultant, driven by my love for the product. Within a few short years, I rose to branch manager, leading a team of approximately 80 sales reps and five team leaders, while raising three boys under eight.
In direct selling, as in life, outcomes are determined by inputs. There is a direct link between thinking, planning, habits, and results. Coaching my team through their fears and around perceived obstacles, seeing them stretch themselves and achieve their professional goals, was truly rewarding – and revealing. I discovered an innate coaching ability and a passion for the subject matter, prompting a deeper dive into my own personal development.
Change never happens in a vacuum. Professional growth isn’t possible without some measure of personal growth. I knew a shift in beliefs could impact the bottom line, and soon my coachees were reporting a spill-over effect into other areas of their lives. As they tackled challenges, developed new skills, and experienced success at work, their self-belief and personal resources grew. As their capabilities expanded, so did their goals, creating a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement. That is the change I want to help you make – change that starts with your profession but extends to every aspect of your life.
When a colleague asked if I could coach her outside of work, the idea for the next phase of my career was planted. I became a certified coach through the Life Coaching Institute of Australia, officially opened my own consultancy in 2014, and began running workshops and coaching private clients. I haven’t looked back since.
Helping teams and professionals define success for themselves and achieve and realise more than ever is what gets me out of bed in the morning (and my boys, my man, my friends, bike, and the pool!). If you are ready to take action and gain traction, I invite you to contact me for a complimentary half-hour introductory session.
I look forward to finding out how I can help you achieve your own version of success.
